Respect…sense of ore
In the editorial of the magazine it is formal but not completely formal as it is very friendly and speaks to you personally. It isn’t a general public type of speech; it seems like a conversation between you and the editor. There was no use of slang in the editorial of the clash magazine which tells us that it isn’t just for young children because slang is known to be the language of the teenagers. This article is humorous but at the same time factual. An example of this would be “let me tell you, if it takes you less than a second to assent, then your an idiot”. This if funny but also true because to be in the presences of someone such as Jay-Z is a honour because he’s such an idol to so many people around the world. The quote also shows how the editor is talking to everyone as an individual by saying “you”. For this artist he is being publicised, I know this because on the front cover it says “the world’s biggest rap star reveals all!”. According to the interview he is not looking to release anything as it is not mentioned. The tone of the article is very calm but strong minded. I think this because he says “I’ll tell you for why – hip-hop has gone to shit” but he also laughs in the interview when they ask him in the interview about going into politics.
I think the main target audience would be people who listen to rap and mainly 15-27 year old males.
Also those who are looking to sign new artists would buy this magazine to look at upcoming artists who are signed to other record labels.
